Join us for the 2024 Bridging the Gap Symposium: Eliminating Mental Health Disparities, March 14–16, 2024, in Washington, D.C.!
The theme for the 2024 Bridging the Gap Symposium is “Empowering Voices and Expanding Access.” This theme was chosen as it supports counselors, counselor educators, and others in the profession to amplify the voices of marginalized communities and promote equitable access to mental health resources.
The Bridging the Gap Symposium will provide presentations and workshops that highlight evidence-based and culturally relevant practices and research that address ways to serve and bridge the gap for underserved communities, including underrepresented ethnic and racial groups, children, veterans, the elderly, military or rural populations, and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. Attendees will include counselors and counselors-in-training, including the NBCC Foundation Minority Fellowship Program awardees, who are master’s- and doctoral-level counseling students committed to working with underserved communities upon graduation.
“Our goals remain intentional and consistent,” says Isabel Gomez, Vice President of Foundation and Professional Services. “Connecting Fellows with all attendees and ensuring they are seen, heard, and aware of all available resources and opportunities is of utmost importance.”
A total of 14.5 continuing education hours are available for attending the entire Pre-Symposium (March 14) and Symposium (March 15–16).
Attendee details, registration, and additional sponsor, exhibitor, and partnership opportunities are available on our event website.
The deadline to register is March 16, 2024, at 10 am.
